Perpendicular Consultancy creates extraordinary architecture powered by science. We purposefully move beyond the confines of architecture to make space for change — taking inspiration and evidence from cutting-edge research in adjacent sciences such as psychology, physiology, sociology, ecology, economics, and systems theory. Based at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership in Cambridge we collaborate with global experts to provide integrated, evidence-based solutions for the benefit of people and planet. 

We exclusively work with clients who seek positive change and prioritise environmental and social value. We undertake evidence-based research and provide tailored strategies for developers, housing associations, local and national government. We also have the knowledge and capability to transform strategy into built architecture, whether new build or retrofit, and specialise in complex projects — in particular housing, public buildings and masterplanning.

We’re not beholden to what we design, but how we design it. We prioritise circular design principles, and are experts in manufactured design using natural materials, using the right materials in the right places. We’re innovative yet pragmatic, dynamic yet meticulous, passionate yet flexible.  We’re researchers, thinkers, and designers, helping our clients transition to a regenerative world using nature-positive systems.
