People

People are at the heart of creating a joyful and resilient place, and this starts with the people at Perpendicular and our Collaborators. We strive to create an environment that fosters a collaborative and transparent approach. Since establishing ourselves in early 2020, with a clear vision, we have created partnerships with individuals and organisations who share the same values and are leaders in their field.

Co-founded by Patrick Usborne and Aelene Thorne. The practice is led by Patrick, a Physicist from Univeristy of Bristol, and Architect from the Architectural Association. Our past & present team include: Hugo Bass, Larry Botchway & James Deru. We collaborate on specific projects with Adrian Campbell, and Florence Collier through the Positive Collective, and are founding members of Better Delivery Collective established by Better Delivery.

We are based in the heart of Cambridge at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership and are an integral member of the Cambridge sustainability community. Founding Director, Patrick Usborne is also the Chair of the Cambridge Association of Architects with a large and active membership, and Trustee of the new Urban Room for Cambridge called the Cambridge Room.

From one week to the next, completely taken it on board. Very impressive! A breath of fresh air.
