Waterbeach Cafe
Perpendicular Architecture were invited by Urban & Civic to design a temporary cafe and supporting community programme for a design-led competition as part of their Waterbeach masterplan near Cambridge. Our proposal was to reimagine three existing boat sheds next to the Lake as a destination not only for the local residents but as a catalyst for community cohesion for the wider area. A cafe was complemented with a new restaurant, food hall and community space which could be rented out for community events.
We had great pleasure in designing these buildings and wish the winning team all the best in developing their designs.
