In 2023 we won a design competition to ‘Reimagine a Future Built Environment with UK Timber’. Working alongside The Positive Collective, NMITE and EcoSystem Technologies. Can the UK feasibly build a house from a single local grown tree?

Through the Positive Collective became finalists for the UN-Habitat Climate Smart Cities Challenge for the City of Bristol; bringing affordable homes to urban infill sites across the city while tackling the Climate Crisis, Biodiversity Loss, & Social Inequality.

We collaborated as part of a design consortium to masterplan Colchester Borders Garden Community by Latimer (part of Clarion Housing Group). Our involvement centred around how to implement an mmc strategy for housing typologies.

Perpendicular Consultancy entered a proposal for multiple infill sites in Cambridge using biogenic materials and building design to reach Passivhaus Plus standards. The council commented on the excellent design solution proposed.

Competition Design for the Urban & Civic Waterbeach Cafe. Retrofit of three existing boat-sheds using mmc into a mixed use scheme with restaurant, food hall, and cafe, all surrounded with productive landscaping.

Perpendicular were invited to join a consortium to masterplan the Thamesmead waterfront; a joint venture between the Peabody Estate and Lendlease. We advised on integrating mmc circular design solutions using biogenic materials for buildings throughout the masterplan.
