Darlington District Council

Perpendicular Architecture worked with Better Delivery to help Darlington District Council understand how they can adopt different MMC Strategies across their land portfolio. Together we reviewed a selection of their sites to comment on MMC strategies and suggested potential procurement routes. A significant proportion of land within Darlington is owned by the Council which made adopting an MMC strategy more viable.

Within the report we identified potential local suppliers and identified logistics challenges which were especially relevant for their inner city sites. From this report Darlington District Council has the ability to determine whether adopting an MMC approach to their housing needs is viable and whether there is an opportunity to grow the rich manufacturing heritage of the region to promote new local supply chains and employment opportunities.
